So it's cruel to kill a dog. But it's ok to kill a chicken, a snake, a fish, a pig, a cow ...?

Exactly Justin. Cultural differences for the most part. I do have a problem with the belief that a prolonged death makes the meat better. But then again, our corporate farms practice extreme cruelty for the sake of efficient production, and tender meat. I thought the combination of the random ad with that picture would lead to some interesting comments.
